Surya kumar Yadav is the new No. 1 in T20I cricket. He has surpassed Mohammad Rizwan and in his latest ICC ranking, he is the leading T20I hitter.
Suryakumar has been in great shape in his current Men’s T20 World Cup and in his first four matches, he has scored two half-centuries. He scored just 68 of 40 against South Africa in a situation where other Indian racquets have struggled. He is also the top run-getter with 935 runs, including his century in his T20Is in 2022.
Suryakumar is the second Indian player to hold the top spot in the T20I batsman rankings after Virat Kohli, who spent 1,013 days at the top of the table between September 2014 and December 2017.
Yadav’s tally of 863 rating points is also the second-best by an Indian, with the best being Kohli’s tally of 897 in September 2014.
Since kicking off his T20I trip to India last March, Yadav has quickly established himself as one of the best hitters in the game’s shortest format.
